I grew up in Lake Royale, North Carolina, a small lake community about 30 miles northeast of Raleigh, as the son of two educators who instilled in me a lifelong curiosity about science, music, and the natural world. Throughout school, I gravitated toward the sciences, sports, and the performing arts, interests that continue to shape who I am today. After earning a degree in Biochemistry from NC State University, I moved to San Diego, California to pursue opportunities in the thriving biotechnology industry while continuing to write, perform, and produce music. Today, my passions span scientific innovation, creative expression, travel, and exploring the connections between seemingly different worlds.

Creativity has always been an essential part of my life. I'm inspired by contemporary visual art and music that blur the boundaries between modernism and postmodernism, embracing creativity, experimentation, and emotional authenticity. I'm particularly drawn to work that explores the intersection of art, technology, nature, and human experience, where traditional forms meet new ideas. Whether through painting, architecture, electronic music, or immersive design, I appreciate art that invites curiosity, sparks conversation, and offers new ways of seeing the world.

I've spent my professional life at the intersection of science, strategy, and innovation within the biotechnology industry. My career has taken me from the research laboratory to executive leadership, helping organizations discover, develop, and commercialize new technologies through strategic partnerships, licensing, and business development. I enjoy connecting great science with the people, companies, and resources needed to turn promising ideas into products that improve patients' lives. More than anything, I'm energized by solving complex problems and helping innovators bring meaningful breakthroughs to the world.
